Congratulations to Martin Tipples and Kevin Smith, who won the Class 4 title in the All Wheel Drive Club (AWDC) Safari Championship last season in Martin's Delcat racer.

From number 95 to number 5 in one season

It was quite a season for Martin. He went from car number 95 to car number 5 in a single season, and finished it as Class 4 champion.

Delcats are the comp safari racers Del builds. Other builders have their own well-known names, like the Tomcat, and people started calling Del's cars Delcats. A Delcat runs a TD5 engine, which is reliable and fast, and is similar in spirit to the Tomcat but built for the 21st century. They are normally built off a 3m frame, but not always. Martin's blue number 5 car took the Class 4 championship, and there have been other Delcats along the way, including the Delcat Tornado.
